In Nitro Type you choose the race car you want to drive and race against the clock and three racers managed by the computer.
In this game, you don't just have to be able to type keys or groups of keys to win. Instead, you have to type popular sayings and pop culture references correctly and with the right case and punctuation to win the race. At the end of the game, whether you came in first or last, your typing speed in words per minute (WPM) and accuracy are shown to you so you can see where you need to improve.
