Battle Gear is a real-time strategy game that immerses players in battles between military alliances. You begin by selecting a faction, each with its own unique strengths and limitations. The USA boasts powerful infantry, naval, and air forces; Russia excels in artillery, defense, and special units; while China can deploy massive numbers of troops at a lower cost.
In Campaign mode, you navigate a world map, attacking and capturing enemy territories one by one. Each battle requires you to balance your budget, the number of deployable units, and the defensive capabilities of both sides.
During a match, you can purchase and deploy various units to the battlefield, such as pistol-wielding soldiers, riflemen, grenadiers, machine gunners, mortar teams, military vehicles, and more. These units automatically advance toward the enemy base, engaging in combat along the way.
Your primary objective is to eliminate enemy forces and destroy their base before your own base falls. You must also manage troop limits, as you cannot simply spam units endlessly.
After each battle, you earn money and XP. XP can be used to unlock new units or invest in upgrades. As you progress through the campaign, you gain access to more powerful options, such as mortars, heavy vehicles, bazookas, helicopters, warships, and air force units.
You can also upgrade key attributes like maximum troop capacity, speed, range, damage output, and unit survivability. Deciding whether to unlock new units or upgrade your existing forces is a crucial part of your long-term strategy.
Battle Gear is not simply about buying the strongest units and waiting for victory. A combined force of infantry, military vehicles, and long-range attack units is often most effective when each type fulfills a distinct role. You can also configure troop deployment and choose a combat stance—either defensive or offensive.
Battle Gear is an accessible military strategy game that offers plenty of content to unlock and experiment with. If you enjoy the experience of building an army and gradually expanding your power through battle, the game's Campaign mode provides enough content to keep you moving forward.
