In Hexbound, time is running out for humanity. The year is 2184. Technology is at its peak, but the biosphere of the Earth is withering. The space research station Aethelgard sets forth on a vast intergalactic migration in quest of a new home. But the universe is far from empty. Under the quiet of the stars old monsters and parasitic creatures are waiting for their prey.
The Prometheus Reconnaissance Fleet was built by humans to find new worlds. This force of pioneers was sent to explore uncharted lands, and destroy any threats.
In Stellar Cycle 251, everything was different. The Prometheus fleet went dark, without notice. Their communications went dead into the void without explanation. The darkness ate the last hope of humanity. Now, players have to go into intergalactic dungeons to find out the reality of what happened.
Hexbound merges run-and-gun FPS action, magic, weapon upgrades, and exploration. Players explore huge regions, fight demons, monsters, robots and deadly bosses. Levels get more and more difficult. Enemies from different directions will attack you with missiles or by sneaking up on you. Standing motionless too long is a recipe for catastrophe.
Be careful, strafe to avoid attacks and look for ways to escape when surrounded. Sometimes just charging full on into the opposition is not the greatest move. Different scenarios call for different weaponry. You can also employ magic to give yourself an advantage in fight. When you gain upgrade points, select skills that suit your play style.
Hexbound is a classic pixel-art environment filled with monsters, secrets, and tough boss encounters. If you want to know what happened to Prometheus and live cosmic dungeons, grab your weapons and enter the dark.
