Meccha Chameleon is a hide and seek game where you draw your own camouflage to hide yourself to blend into the environment and avoid getting hit by the attacker. Every round is about being a good observer, being good at positioning yourself and the ability to mimic colors and patterns to blend in with the environment as closely as possible.
You have a time window to draw straight onto your character before the seeker begins to move. The idea is to have your figure blend completely with the item or surface behind you, from overall color to the smallest details.
Artistic skill matters, but so does the choice of concealing area. A safe haven can be found in what looks like an exposed place, if your disguise is natural enough. Conversely, if your lines or colors are inconsistent with the environment, isolated corners are easily spotted. Some places take just a few basic colors to blend in, while more complex settings require more work to recreate contours, highlights, shadows and patterns.
The best thing about Meccha Chameleon is that the player does all the camouflage design. The same hiding spot can have 2 completely different outcomes for 2 people . Every match becomes a test of observation and creativity , not just memorizing the map .
The game encourages players to use the spots that are right in front of you but that you often overlook. Great concealing areas are generally wall paintings, floor rugs and massive ornamental pieces, as seekers tend to look over them, rather than check every detail.
Every map has its own set of obstacles. Some maps have only a few simple surfaces, while others have areas rich in imagery or complex patterns, forcing you to balance painting time with the accuracy of your camouflage.
Meccha Chameleon feels different than your typical Prop Hunt games. The real excitement isn't eagerly waiting to see if you will be seen, but watching a seeker stand directly in front of your invention, examine the room, and walk away, fully oblivious that you are blending into the landscape. Each win is a triumph of optical illusion, and you are inspired to try even more daring disguise concepts in the next round.
Artistic skill, sharp observation and the art of visual trickery are the core of the gameplay in Meccha Chameleon. The self-designed camouflage system ensures that every match provides new hiding opportunities, so it's fun to try it out on each map no matter how many times you play it.
